Terms of Use

Legal terms governing your use of Multiple Sources (multiple-sources.com).

Important Legal Information

1. Not Financial Advice

Content on Multiple Sources, including but not limited to comparison tables, rate ranges, educational guides, and product recommendations, is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute financial advice, legal advice, tax advice, or credit counseling.

Debt and loan decisions are complex, personal, and vary widely depending on individual circumstances. Before making any major financial decision, including taking out a loan, consolidating debt, or settling debts, consult a licensed financial advisor, nonprofit credit counselor, tax professional, or attorney.

NFCC (nonprofit credit counseling): NFCC.org connects you with free or low-cost counseling.

2. Not a Lender or Credit Counselor

Multiple Sources does not:

  • Issue or underwrite loans
  • Make credit decisions or approval determinations
  • Provide credit counseling or debt management services
  • Guarantee loan approval, rates, or terms
  • Represent or guarantee lender availability in your state or jurisdiction

All lenders featured on our site are independent third parties. Each lender sets its own rates, terms, fees, and eligibility criteria. Rates shown are estimates and may not reflect your actual rate.

3. Not NMLS Licensed

Multiple Sources is not a Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) licensee. We are not required to be NMLS licensed because we do not originate, issue, or underwrite loans.

The lenders featured on our site maintain their own NMLS licenses and regulatory compliance. You can verify a lender's NMLS license at NMLS Consumer Access.

4. Affiliate Disclosure and Compensation

FTC Compliance (16 CFR Part 255): Multiple Sources is an affiliate marketer. We may receive compensation when you click links to featured lenders or apply for products through our site.

How compensation works:

  • Most lenders pay us on a "cost-per-application" (CPA) basis when you click our link and submit an application
  • Some lenders may pay per click or on other commission structures
  • Compensation does not depend on whether you are approved or accepted by the lender

How this affects our content: Compensation may influence which lenders we feature and how prominently they appear. However, our comparison of rates and terms is factual and unbiased. We disclose affiliate relationships clearly.

5. Accuracy of Information

The rates, terms, fees, and product information displayed on Multiple Sources are estimates based on publicly available lender data and may not be accurate, complete, or current.

Important:

  • Rates and terms are subject to change without notice
  • Your actual rate will depend on creditworthiness, income, debt-to-income ratio, employment history, and other factors determined by the lender
  • Pre-qualification rate estimates do not guarantee approval or your actual rate
  • Not all products are available in all states or to all applicants

For accurate current rates and terms, visit the lender's website directly or contact them directly.

6. Credit Inquiries and Your Credit Score

Soft vs. Hard Inquiries:

  • Soft pull: Pre-qualification or rate checks via Multiple Sources or lenders typically use a soft credit inquiry, which does NOT affect your credit score
  • Hard pull: Submitting a formal application with a lender triggers a hard credit inquiry, which WILL appear on your credit report and may temporarily lower your credit score by 5–10 points

Multiple inquiries in a short time window (typically 14–45 days depending on the scoring model) may be treated as a single inquiry for rate-shopping purposes.

7. Debt Settlement Warning (FTC Telemarketing Sales Rule)

If you encounter debt settlement services through our site or our partners, be aware:

  • Legitimate debt settlement companies may not charge fees before settling at least one account. Upfront fees are often red flags.
  • The IRS treats forgiven debt as taxable income (though exceptions apply). You may owe taxes on settled amounts.
  • Debt settlement may significantly damage your credit score for several years.
  • Creditors are under no obligation to settle. Settlement companies cannot guarantee results.

Before considering debt settlement, explore alternatives:

  • Nonprofit credit counseling (NFCC.org)
  • Debt consolidation loans
  • Debt management plans

For more information, see the FTC's debt settlement guide.

8. State Availability and Licensing

Loan products and lenders are not available in all states. Each lender is responsible for:

  • Obtaining state licensing in jurisdictions where they operate
  • Complying with state lending laws (usury caps, disclosure requirements, etc.)
  • Determining which states they serve

Multiple Sources does not guarantee that any featured lender is available or licensed in your state. Always verify directly with the lender before applying.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MULTIPLE SOURCES (INCLUDING ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS) IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS-IS" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

MULTIPLE SOURCES DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING:

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, so the above may not apply to you.
