About Multiple Sources

An independent personal finance comparison service helping you find the best loan and debt consolidation options.

Who We Are

Multiple Sources is an independent comparison service for personal loans and debt consolidation. We are not a lender, not a bank, and not a financial advisor.

Our mission is straightforward: help people understand and compare loan options from vetted lenders. We don't make loans. We don't determine eligibility. We don't tell you what to do with your money.

What we do is research lenders, track rates and terms, maintain transparent editorial standards, and help you see your options side-by-side so you can make informed decisions.

Our Editorial Standards

We believe independent comparison means no pay-to-play. Here's how we actually operate:

  • We select lenders based on transparency and market presence. A lender must have clear terms, real rates, and be widely available to consumers. We favor established platforms like LendingTree, Credible, and direct lenders like Upstart and LendingClub.
  • We rank by user benefit, not by who pays us the most. Our "Editor's Pick" badge means we believe it's a genuinely good option — not that it's the highest-paying affiliate partner.
  • Compensation may affect placement and featured status, but not our actual ratings. We disclose this openly. If a lender is our affiliate partner, we note that. But our comparison of rates, terms, and features is honest.
  • We do not include every lender in the market. There are hundreds of personal loan lenders in the U.S. We feature the most transparent, trustworthy, and widely available options.

Advertiser Disclosure

FTC Compliance (16 CFR Part 255): Multiple Sources is an affiliate marketer. We receive compensation from lenders when you click through our links and apply for a loan.

How we are paid: Most of our lender partners operate on a "cost-per-application" (CPA) or "cost-per-acquisition" model. This means we only get paid if you click our link and complete an application. We do not get paid if you just view our site or read our comparison.

How this affects what you see:

  • Compensation may affect which products we feature and where they appear on the page. (For example, LendingTree's high CPA makes them an attractive featured partner.)
  • Compensation does not affect our actual ratings or comparison of interest rates and terms. Those are factual.
  • We do not list every lender, because some either don't pay affiliate commissions or aren't as transparent.

Your click helps fund this site. We don't charge you to visit or read. We don't charge lenders to be listed. Affiliate commissions are how we keep the lights on and pay for research and updates.

You still benefit: Lenders compete to offer better rates and terms. Your rate is set by the lender based on your creditworthiness, not by our affiliate relationship with them.

How We Make Money

Multiple Sources is free to use because of advertising and affiliate relationships:

  • Affiliate commissions from lenders: When you click a lender link and apply, we may receive a commission. This is standard in personal finance comparison.
  • Google AdSense display advertising: We run contextual ads on our site. AdSense sets cookies to serve relevant ads, but we don't sell your personal data.

We are transparent about both revenue sources. No hidden cross-sells, no payday loans, no predatory lenders.

Our Limitations

It's important to understand what we cannot do:

  • We cannot guarantee loan approval. Lenders make their own credit decisions. A pre-qualification with one lender is not a guarantee of approval.
  • We cannot guarantee the rates we show. Rates depend on your credit score, income, debt-to-income ratio, and other factors. The APR you see is an estimate, not your actual offer.
  • We cannot guarantee lender availability in your state. Some lenders are not licensed in all 50 states. Availability is the lender's responsibility, not ours.
  • We are not financial advisors. We provide information, not advice. Debt and loan decisions are personal and complex. Consider talking to a nonprofit credit counselor (NFCC.org) before making a major decision.
  • Always read loan agreements before signing. We provide comparisons to help you research. The legal terms are between you and the lender. Read everything.
